Eco-designers, adrenaline, living history – through Herzegovina in an electric car
Spring is here and with it the temperatures are rising again, inviting you to take a sustainable road trip through this beautiful country. I open the season with a trip to Herzegovina last summer.
The journey by electric car first takes me from Sarajevo to Mostar. There, I visit a sustainable jewelry designer in the old town, buy regional products from Herzegovina that are made by women, and bravely head up Via Ferrari in the middle of the night to enjoy the unique view over the city after the steep climb full of adrenaline. The tour then continues to the mystical town of Stolac, where you can experience 15,000 years of the country’s living history in a listed old Ottoman house.

Before I return to Sarajevo, I drive to Hutovo Blato, a marshy area rich in birds. The nature park is one of the most important nature reserves for marsh birds in Europe. On a boat trip, I get very close to the unique flora and fauna and see nests like I’ve never seen before!
With many new impressions, insights and newfound energy, we return to the capital of the heart-shaped young European country, surrounded by high mountains. I take a lot with me from every trip. Once again, I was so close to Mother Nature, which we deliberately harm every day instead of protecting. But there is hope, thanks to the many people who live here and take care of them!
