Sarajevo to host the IPA Meeting 2025

From August 14 to 17, 2025, Sarajevo once again hosted the 11th International Police Association (IPA) Meeting. Around 250 police officers from eight countries took part in the event, which combined sport, nature and international friendship.

The IPA – the global police network

With over 380,000 members in more than 100 countries, the International Police Association (IPA) is the world’s largest police association. It promotes international cooperation, friendship and cultural exchange among police officers – regardless of rank, gender, religion or political conviction.
The IPA Sarajevo is an example of the combination of local responsibility and international solidarity and combines professional exchange with humanitarian commitment in the region and worldwide.

Strong proportion of women and sporting competition

This year’s meeting was characterized by a high proportion of women: Around 30 to 40 percent of the participants – at least 80 people – were female police officers. Traditionally, the IPA meeting began with a rafting trip on the Neretva – a symbol of team spirit and an opportunity to experience the untouched nature of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the event, the participants competed against each other in five different sports, which strengthened sporting fairness and collegial cooperation.

Social commitment: children from Pazarić as guests

A moving highlight of the IPA meeting was the participation of children and adults from the Pazarić home. Together with the police officers, they spent a day full of games, encounters and activities. Gifts were prepared especially for them – a sign of humanity and solidarity.

Organizer Muamer Klino – bridge builder and social activist

The meeting was organized for the fifth time in a row by Muamer Klino, President of the IPA in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Klino is not only an experienced organizer, but is also known for his strong social commitment.
Although the IPA is not a traditional aid organization, he is committed to supporting those in need. The involvement of disadvantaged groups such as the guests from Pazaric illustrates this attitude and makes Sarajevo a place where police exchange and humanitarian work go hand in hand.

Sarajevo as a center of security and friendship

Thanks to these initiatives, Sarajevo has developed into an important meeting place for the international police. Back in May, Muamer Klino organized the successful International Security Conference in Sarajevo, which strengthened the city as a center for dialogue, cooperation and friendship.

Conclusion: Friendship across borders

With its mixture of sporting competition, cultural exchange and social commitment, the 11th IPA Meeting in Sarajevo shows how shared experiences – in the spirit of friendship – can overcome borders and transform encounters into genuine connections.
